4Batz has officially inked a deal with Drake‘s OVO Sound label imprint.

The Texas-native secured an EP deal with the label after a bidding war erupted among several prominent record labels. This came in the wake of the artist’s popular track, ‘act ii: date @ 8,’ which gained traction during the holiday season last December. Originally released through Vydia, the track quickly captured attention.

Adding to the buzz, Drake recently joined forces for a remix of the single, amplifying its reach.

Matt Buser, the lawyer representing 4Batz, expressed gratitude for the unwavering support and positive energy extended by Team Drake/OVO throughout the process. “The unwavering support and positive energy from Team Drake/OVO were pivotal in bringing this song to fruition,” said Buser. “We are immensely grateful for their involvement and eagerly anticipate the exciting opportunities that lie ahead as a result of this groundbreaking creative and business endeavor.”

Reflecting on the inspiration behind the record, 4Batz shared with Billboard earlier this month, that the track “was [made] more for the female.” He continued with, “Nowadays, R&B is quote-unquote toxic. It’s a lot of fake toxicity going on. I don’t know about that toxicity. My momma raised me in a way like, ‘You love a girl, you do this. You open the door for her.’ I’m big on that, so that one was specifically for the females.”
