Earlier this week, Tekashi 6ix9ine was arrested at the John F. Kennedy International Airport due to an outstanding warrant for his arrest from Harris County, TX. for allegedly choking a 16-year-old at Houston’s Galleria Mall back in January.

Taken to Rikers Island, the “Gummo” rapper was finally granted bail after being denied twice when Texas prosecutors argued that the Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn native was a flight risk. However, 6ix9ine’s attorney managed to convince the judge to grant him bail after “[acknowledging] a significant change in circumstances” during an emergency hearing in NYC on Friday, July 13th.

Currently placed in isolation at Rikers’ Contagious Disease Unit, for safety reasons, 6ix9ine is to wait for his $150,000 bail to be processed in order to be released. However, he is to be extradited to Harris County, Tex. and pay a $5,000 bail on Monday (July 16).
