Inspired by Keanu Reeves character, John Wick, this album showcases Dave East’s lyrical mastery and solidifies his position as one of the most talented rappers in the game.
Jam-packed with 24 tracks, Fortune Favors The Bold features contributions from Kid Capri, Cordae, Coi Leray, Ghostface Killah, Stacy Barthe, Tyga, G-Eazy, Ty Dolla $ign, and Jadakiss with production handled by Cool & Dre, Mike N Keys, Don Cannon, Mike WiLL Made-It, RZA and more.
“I Googled John Wick’s tattoo,” Dave East explained. “I thought about what Fortune Favors The Boldmeant to me, and it totally fit the album.”
“I had to be bold to continue doing what I’m doing and dealing with all of the hate, the love, and the sh*t I’ve dealt with,” he added. “I never let it affect my journey. I’ve seen a lot of fortune I didn’t know I was going to see by being bold and not taking ‘No’ for an answer. This is a statement.”
After facing a barrage of diss tracks from the likes of Future, Metro Boomin, Kendrick Lamar, and more, Drake returns with a response that appears to have leaked online.
Earlier this week, Rory and Mal of the New Rory and Mal podcast teased the diss on episode 258, with Rory dropping hints like, “Drop down & give me 50,” a line directly lifted from Drake’s response.
