Did Jhené Aiko Throw Shade Over Ariana Grande’s New Album ‘Eternal Sunshine’?

On Friday, March 8, Ariana Grande released her fifth studio album, Eternal Sunshine.

Fans speculate that Jhené Aiko might be subtly throwing shade at Ariana Grande and her new album, ‘Eternal Sunshine,’ following an Instagram Story post where she played her own 2014 record with the same title.

It’s worth noting that Ariana Grande was previously in a relationship with Big Sean, who is currently in a romantic relationship with Aiko and is also the father of her child.

This isn’t the first time Jhené and Ariana have been accused of throwing shots at one another over Big Sean. In 2019, Jhené Aiko released the single “None of Your Concern,” following rumors of a split between her and Big Sean. Big Sean was spotted with Ariana Grande shortly after the rumors began prompting Aiko to release “None of Your Concern” with the following lyrics, “I’ve been hearin’ things and seeing things and so it seems you movin’ on from me / Of course you on the scene with little miss thing, and trust me she really don’t want beef”.

Fans suspect that the term “little miss thing” was a shot at Ariana Grande. Prior to Ariana and Sean being seen together, the “7 Rings” songstress supposedly dropped various hints that she was still interested in Big Sean.

In her “thank u, next” music video, Ariana wrote in her burn book that Big Sean “could still get it,” sparking further speculation. Additionally, people speculated about the meaning behind her song ‘break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored,’ suggesting it might be a nod to Big Sean’s rumored relationship with Jhené.

Do you think this was all a coincidence or is it shade?
