Tonight marks the annual BET Awards; and with show serving as a tribute to the Purple Rain legend Prince, it’s only right BET kicks off the show with a bang.

For a long time, Beyoncé hasn’t opened up for the BET Awards. Especially after the comments about Blue Ivy on 106 & Park. But tonight, that is all about to change. According to The Rapfest, the “Formation” is to perform at the awards show tonight with none other than Kendrick Lamar, who appeared on the Lemonade album cut, “Freedom.” This performance comes days before Beyoncé is set to embark on her Formation World Tour overseas in Europe.

Be sure to catch the BET Awards tonight at 8 PM, hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross and Anthony Anderson. The show will also air on 17 other Viacom channels including VH1 & MTV.
