Former Bad Boy singer and model, Cassie, has filed a lawsuit against Diddy, accusing him of rape and prolonged physical abuse spanning over a decade. The legal action, filed in the Federal District Court in Manhattan under the Adult Survivors Act, reveals that the abuse commenced shortly after Cassie, born Casandra Ventura, signed with Diddy, born Sean Combs, and joined Bad Boy at the age of 19.

Cassie, whose debut album in 2005 produced hits like “Me & U” and “Long Way To Go,” achieved notable success, debuting at number four on the US Billboard 200. Despite the chart-topping achievements, her journey with Bad Boy Records took a dark turn as the lawsuit alleges a disturbing pattern of control and abuse by Diddy, including substance coercion, physical assault, and coercive sexual encounters.

The lawsuit further claims that Diddy subjected Cassie to forced encounters with male prostitutes, filming the acts. The legal action recounts instances of abuse dating back to 2012 when Cassie briefly dated Kid Cudi, revealing that Diddy, in a fit of rage, threatened to destroy the rapper’s car, which subsequently exploded.

In response to these allegations, Diddy’s lawyer, Ben Brafman, vehemently denies the accusations, citing a history of Cassie’s demands for a substantial sum, under the threat of a damaging book. Despite Diddy’s rejection of these demands, the lawsuit has now been filed, prompting a strong denial and counterclaim.

Cassie, breaking her silence, expressed her readiness to share her story, emphasizing the importance of speaking out against violence and abuse in relationships. “After years in silence and darkness,” she said in a statement, “I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships.”

Diddy’s lawyer asserts that the accusations are baseless and part of a scheme to tarnish his client’s reputation, pointing out previous attempts to extort money. “Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations. For the past six months, Mr. Combs has been subjected to Ms. Ventura’s persistent demand of $30 million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail. Despite withdrawing her initial threat, Ms. Ventura has now resorted to filing a lawsuit riddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aiming to tarnish Mr. Combs’s reputation and seeking a payday.”

The lawsuit details a disturbing practice termed “voyeurism,” where Diddy allegedly coerced Cassie into engaging in sexual activities with male prostitutes while he watched, recorded, and took photographs. These encounters, referred to as “freak offs,” involved costumes and took place in high-end hotels and Diddy’s residences across the United States.

The legal filing culminates with an account of an alleged rape in 2018, after a dinner meeting between Diddy and Cassie. The suit claims that Diddy forced himself into her apartment, despite her repeated objections, and raped her. The relationship ended shortly after.

Cassie subsequently married personal trainer Alex Fine in the following year and now has two children. According to the complaint, her association with Bad Boy Records concluded in 2019.
