Charlie Murphy Succumbs To Battle with Leukemia

We regret to inform you that actor and comedian Charlie Murphy has passed away after his battle with Leukemia. The older brother of actor and comedian, Eddie Murphy, the 57-year-old passed Wednesday morning at a New York City hospital, according to TMZ.

Charlie Murphy received much notoriety after his appearance on multiple episodes of The Chapelle Show, including his infamous segment, Charlie Murphy’s True Hollywood Stories where he told hilarious stories about his encounters with the late Prince and Rick James.

 

The actor is also known for his character in the film Vampire in Brooklyn and Adult Swim shows, The Boondocks and Black Jesus.

Murphy’s wife, Tisha Taylor Murphy, died in 2009 from cervical cancer. The two leave behind three children. RIP Charlie Murphy.
