Dawn Richard Takes the Stand in Diddy Trial, Says She Witnessed Abuse and Stayed Quiet Out of Fear
Week two of Diddy’s federal trial kicked off Monday (May 19), and Dawn Richard was next up to testify. The former Danity Kane member said she witnessed Sean Combs physically assault Cassie Ventura on multiple occasions, backing up earlier claims made by Ventura herself.
“He would drag her and kick her and punch her in the mouth,” Richard said on the stand. When asked what triggered the violence, she didn’t hesitate: “When she would speak up for herself.”
Richard named names. She said Diddy’s longtime security D-Roc and Bonds were present for some of the abuse. “None of us did anything,” she admitted.
She recalled one 2009 incident in L.A. where Diddy allegedly punched Cassie in the face, leaving her with a swollen eye. The next day, the two were spotted at an event in Central Park wearing sunglasses. When asked why she wore them too, Richard said, “Solidarity.”
Another time, she said Diddy slapped Cassie in the mouth during a car ride and told her to “shut the f**k up.” Everyone in the vehicle stayed silent. “I asked myself, if he did that to someone he supposedly loved, what would he do to an employee? So I’d approach Mr. Combs with softness. For my own safety.”
Richard said she never intervened because she was scared. “I was told not to [speak], by Mr. Combs and Harve Pierre.”
She also testified that Diddy kept drugs—including weed, molly, ketamine, and cocaine—in a Louis Vuitton toiletry bag that “went everywhere, from domestic to overseas.” According to Richard, he got it all from one man she referred to as “One Stop.” That included Plan B.
As for weapons, Richard said she saw Combs with handguns and added that his security team also carried. She said she never saw him wave, load, or fire a gun—but the guns were always there.
When asked how she interpreted Combs telling her “people could go missing,” Richard didn’t flinch: “That people could die.”
The defense tried to question her credibility, pointing out she didn’t mention the “people go missing” threat in her earlier interviews. “As time progresses, I remember more,” she said.
Diddy’s lawyer also brought up the fact that Richard reached out to him after leaving Diddy-Dirty Money. “You asked him to work with you again?” Richard confirmed, “Yes.”
When asked why she filed a civil suit against him, her answer was simple: “For justice.”
Combs' Westmoreland: Isn't it true the first time you said this was a week ago? Would you like me to show you your previous interviews?
— Inner City Press (@innercitypress) May 19, 2025
Dawn Richard: I know what I said.
Westmoreland: You said Mr. Combs made a death threat – one that you didn't recall 7 times?
Dawn Richard’s testimony follows statements from Cassie and a DHS agent. More witnesses are expected in the coming days, including Cassie’s former best friend and her mother.
Combs has pleaded not guilty. The trial continues.

D. Woods Responds After Three Danity Kane Members Say June 20 LA Block Party Booking Was Made Without Their Consent
D. Woods took to her Instagram Stories to address the controversy surrounding a June 20 Danity Kane appearance at the LA Block Party in Los Angeles, confirming she and Aundrea Fimbres plan to perform at the event. “5,4,3,2, & even 1 — there have been many versions and configurations of Danity Kane. But our fans have always been constant,” she wrote. “Drea & D. Woods thank you for ‘Holding Us Down’ and are looking forward to GOING UP at @lablockparty June 20th. Let’s start the summer off right and continue our 20th Anniversary with a celebration of the music we all love.”
As previously reported by miixtapechiick.com, Danity Kane’s official page issued a statement saying the booking was made by only two members without the knowledge or consent of Dawn Richard, Aubrey O’Day, or Shannon Bex. “This promotion constitutes false advertising and a misleading promotion, creating a false impression of full group participation,” the statement read. “Presenting a two-member lineup under the full Danity Kane name without clear and accurate disclosure results in deception of fans and a clear misrepresentation of what is being offered.”
The June 20 appearance is billed as part of the group’s 20th anniversary. Danity Kane’s Untold Chapter Tour, which ran from December 2025 through January 2026, also featured D. Woods and Fimbres alongside Aubrey O’Day, without Richard or Bex.

Three Members of Danity Kane Say Two Others Booked a June 20 Show Without Their Knowledge
Dawn Richard, Aubrey O’Day, and Shannon Bex are calling out a flyer promoting Danity Kane at the LA Block Party at Pershing Square in Los Angeles on June 20, saying they were not informed about the appearance and will not be there.
A statement posted to Danity Kane’s official page confirmed that only two members independently booked the show without the others’ consent. “This promotion constitutes false advertising and a misleading promotion, creating a false impression of full group participation,” the statement read. “Presenting a two-member lineup under the full Danity Kane name without clear and accurate disclosure results in deception of fans and a clear misrepresentation of what is being offered.”

The flyer was posted by the danitykaneontour Instagram account, which wrote “Kicking off this summer with @lablockparty bringing yall back to 20 years ago!”
The situation comes amid an already divided chapter for the group. Danity Kane’s Untold Chapter Tour ran from December 9 through January 2026 and featured Aubrey O’Day, Aundrea Fimbres, and D. Woods, a lineup that did not include the full original group. Dawn Richard said she was not aware of the reunion, and Shannon Bex has been open about stepping away from music to focus on entrepreneurship. Woods, who had not performed with the group since her exit in 2008, addressed her return directly. “The Untold Chapter Starts Now. Ya Girl Is Back and rewriting OUR story,” she wrote.

It didn’t end there. A second clip filmed outside shows the woman throwing another punch at Ice Spice while the group was crossing the street, leading to another scuffle. Video also shows Ice Spice picking up a phone from the ground belonging to someone in the other group, which she allegedly smashed.
The woman, identified as Vayah, gave her own account, claiming Ice Spice was rude when she approached to show support and that she slapped her after being called a “bitch.”
Ice Spice’s attorney Bradford Cohen said the incident has been reported to the LAPD. “The unprovoked attack on my client has been reported to the LAPD and we will be pursuing any and all avenues to hold the perpetrators responsible for their actions, including criminally and civilly,” Cohen said. “We are also exploring holding the location responsible for their lack of appropriate security.”
As previously reported by miixtapechiick.com, Ice Spice is currently being sued by a New York wig maker over an unpaid $20,000 order for her 2024 Y2K tour.
