Last week, Diddy took to Twitter throwback footage of his former MTV music-competition series Making The Band and questioned fans whether or not it was worth bringing the show back by using the hashtag, “IWantMyMTB.”

After giving it much thought, Diddy has officially announced that he will be rebooting the reality TV series that spawned the success of groups like O-Town, Danity Kane and Day 26.

“MTV and I are back together again!!” said Diddy in an e-mailed statement to Complex. “Making the Band is coming back bigger, bolder and more cutting edge. MTB on MTV was the pioneer of reality TV. We’re going to bring that supernatural energy back to the format and bring the world it’s next global superstars.”

Diddy and MTV have already begun accepting video submissions on all social media platforms with the hashtag “#MTBCasting.” More information is scheduled to be announced in the upcoming weeks about the start of casting. All MTB contestants must be 18 years of age or older.

The new season of Making The Band is scheduled to hit MTV in 2020.
