DJ Drama Hints At ‘Dedication 7′ Release with Lil Wayne

Sunday, Sept. 28, marked the 38th birthday of Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., also known as rapper, Lil Wayne.

As many friends and comrades wished the Young Money CEO a happy birthday, one of them caught fans’ eyes in particular. In a few words, DJ Drama wished Lil Wayne a happy birthday in an Instagram caption while adding the following words, “D7 … 2021.”

‘D7,’ refers to the seventh installment of the popular ‘Dedication’ mixtape series by Gangsta Grillz’ own DJ Drama and Lil Wayne. The last installment Dedication 6 came in two parts, releasing the first version on Christmas Day in 2018 and the second version, Dedication 6: Reloaded, on Jan. 6, 2019.

Dedication 6 featured contributions from Nicki Minaj, Gudda Gudda, Cory Gunz, Euro, Zoey Dollaz and HoodyBaby, taking on the then-popular records “Rockstar” by Post Malone, “XO Tour Lif3” by Lil Uzi Vert, and “The Story of O.J.” by Jay-Z, just to name a few.

Just last Friday, Lil Wayne dropped the deluxe version of his 2018-project, Tha Carter V. The updated “original” version features 33 records with contributions from 2 Chainz, Post Malone, Gucci Mane, and Raekwon.
