DMX has reportedly suffered from an overdose.

According to TMZ, the rapper, born Earl Simmons, had the overdose on Friday (Apr. 2) night at around 11 p.m. and was rushed to a hospital in White Plans, New York. Sources from the hospital told TMZ that DMX has had “some brain activity,” however, is reportedly in a “vegetative state” and may not make it, according to doctors overseeing his care.

Rick Ross took to Instagram Stories that he was sending prayers to the rapper.

Back in 2019, DMX sought rehab following his year-long bid in prison for tax evasion.

DMX’s attorney, Murray Richman, confirmed with ABC7 that DMX had a heart attack and is now on life support.

“I received a call this morning that Earl Simmons was in the hospital, at the White Plains Hospital, and that he had a heart attack, and I’m not sure how it was induced and that he’s on life support,” said Richman.

Richman did not confirm whether or not the heart attack was a result of an overdose. “I’ve spoken to the family and the family and I are quite close with each other. I am concerned about his well-being and mindful of his significance. I have known Earl for over 25 years and I believe that his music is quite poignant, very important. He’s truly a poet of our time,” Richman said.
