Last Saturday night, Doja Cat released a new song on Soundcloud which is a remix to Ice JJ Fish’s ‘What You Wanting’ who is known for his single ‘On The Floor’ back in 2014. She first teased it on Instagram Live, where it seemed like she was in the middle of the single’s production.
In the hook, which is identical to the original song, she sings “Boy anything you want, bet I’m on it (For sure).” Already, the song makes for the type of mid-winter release that feels like the promises of summertime — from the likes of summer flings to summer joyrides. “Boy, why you excite me, you’re vibey, am I to your liking?” The sound is on-brand for the pop-star — her nod to Ice JJ Fish and her genius flare perfectly captures her vibrant personality and her artistic talents.
Plenty of the viewers who were tuned into Doja’s livestream expressed their admiration of the demo. The soothing instrumentals and carefree lyrics feel dreamy, euphoric, and cloud-like. Doja ended her livestream saying that she was going to go make some more music, which of course has definitely sparked some excitement for her next projects.
On Twitter, Doja proposed that the track will be added to Soundcloud first and then to other streaming platforms shortly.
