After fans had been anticipating the sixth studio album, Certified Lover Boy, Drake took to Instagram Stories that he would be delaying the project after revealing he had knee surgery in October and needed some more time to recover.

“I was planning to release my album this month but between surgery and rehab my energy has been dedicated to recovery,” he wrote. “I’m blessed to be back on my feet feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won’t be dropping in January. I’m looking forward to sharing it with you all in 2021.”

This news is a follow up to Drake’s August release, “Laugh Now, Cry Later” featuring Lil Durk. On the same day, Drake took a chapter out of JAY-Z’s book where he recreated the album covers to his previous projects for the official trailer of Certified Lover Boy.
