Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Childish Gambino Decline Performing at 2019 Grammys

Hip Hop is taking a stand against the Grammys this year, as Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Childish Gambino have all declined to perform at the 61st annual music awards show, despite being nominated for multiple awards.
“The fact of the matter is, we continue to have a problem in the hip-hop world,” said Ken Ehrlich, the Grammy’s longtime producer. “When they don’t take home the big prize, the regard of the academy, and what the Grammys represent, continue to be less meaningful to the hip-hop community, which is sad.
Lamar has garnered eight Grammy nominations, while Drake follows behind with seven. Gambino has also been nominated in five categories including “Song of The Year” with his 2018 release, “This Is America.”

New Certifications: ‘Mystery Lady’ Certifies Gold!

There’s a new certification out! As of May 3, ‘Mystery Lady’ by Masego and Don Toliver just went gold, selling 500,000 copies! The two artists sing out to a lady they have no clue about. They’re just enveloped in how enticing she is.
This lady is unlike any fans whom Masego has given roses to. In his eyes, she’s like no other, which is probably why he’s never seen her!
“Thinking I can make as many songs ’bout a lady
When I haven’t met her
But she on me heavy, on my cerebellum
If I say I love her, am I wrong? Am I crazy?
Am I overzealous?”
In their music video, their mystique breezes through gardens, beach sands, city streets and more just minding hers while Masego follows after her.
Toliver doesn’t bother chasing but he still sings out to this mystery lady.
“Ring, ring, hit my celly (ring, ring)
Remember you went you bad on me, I won’t forget it (ring, ring)
You said you wanna tell on me, now, won’t you tell it? (Yeah)
In between the sheets, you know I got you yellin’ (yellin’)”
This single marks the third track of Masego’s 2020 EP called ‘Studying Abroad: Extended Stay‘ with features from Shenseea, Toliver, Sheléa, and TeaMarrr.
