Hip Hop is taking a stand against the Grammys this year, as Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Childish Gambino have all declined to perform at the 61st annual music awards show, despite being nominated for multiple awards.

“The fact of the matter is, we continue to have a problem in the hip-hop world,” said Ken Ehrlich, the Grammy’s longtime producer. “When they don’t take home the big prize, the regard of the academy, and what the Grammys represent, continue to be less meaningful to the hip-hop community, which is sad.

Lamar has garnered eight Grammy nominations, while Drake follows behind with seven. Gambino has also been nominated in five categories including “Song of The Year” with his 2018 release, “This Is America.”
