Earlier this morning, producer Mac Kream presented fans with unfortunate news. After suffering from kidney and liver failure, Derrick ‘Fredo Santana’ Coleman succumbed to his health issues and passed away at the age of 27.

Coleman was hospitalized last October, where he was diagnosed with kidney and liver failure as a result of drinking lean and inhaling substances. Following the hospitalization, the Chicago native began a new journey of sobriety and urged fans to do the same.

Fredo Santana was the older cousin of fellow Chicago rapper and producer Chief Keef. The duo and other Chicago natives including Reese, Lil Durk, and the rest of GBE shook the Chicago drill scene with their bass thumpin’ instrumentals and hard-hitting lyrics. Fredo Santana leaves behind an 8-month-old son.

Rest In Peace Fredo.
