With the impending 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop just two months away on August 11th, Hot 97 and WBLS have collaborated to unveil a momentous celebratory concert entitled ‘Hip Hop 50.’ This event is dedicated to honoring the remarkable milestone of this influential music genre. ‘Hip Hop 50’ is scheduled to be held on September 15 at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York.

Wu-Tang Clan has been announced as the headlining act, with additional performances by renowned artists such as Mary J. Blige, EPMD, Tyrese, and Sean Paul.

DJ Funk Flex, a prominent figure in the Hip-Hop industry, will be leading the event, ensuring an unforgettable experience for attendees. Furthermore, the concert will be graced by special guest appearances from acclaimed artists Mariah Carey and Maxwell.

In a related announcement made last week, Mass Appeal, in collaboration with Live Nation, revealed their plans for their own Hip Hop 50 concert. The concert will feature performances by Run DMC, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, T.I., Lupe Fiasco, and many more.

Leading up to its release, Walker has announced the first single, “Heart of a Woman,” now available for pre-save, which she teased on TikTok. Finally Over It is the follow-up to her chart-topping sophomore album, Still Over It, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

After collaborating with Ty Dolla $ign on Vulture 1 & 2, Kanye West surprised fans by announcing his forthcoming solo album titled Bully during a live performance at the Wuyuan River Stadium in Haikou, China.

“I got a new album coming out,” he revealed to the audience. “The album’s called ‘Bully,’ and this song is called ‘Beauty and the Beast.’” He then debuted the song, which features his signature vocal style over an instrumental. The lyrics include, “I still think about it every night and day to try to stay away, to keep my audience / Don’t take this disrespect, I’m sitting here trying to redirect.”
