Today, J. Cole officially returned to social media in a big way. Wiping out all the images off his Instagram, J. Cole changed his avatar on both Instagram and Twitter to a purple circle, as well as his Twitter header. Tweeting, “It’s Time” and shortly deleting it right after, Cole & his Dreamville team logged back out to announce a surprise show at The Gramercy Theater out in New York City.

With only two hours to spare, fans made their way to the venue which became sold out just a half hour before doors opened.

During the show, J. Cole made the announcement that he would be releasing his fourth studio album, K.O.D. Recorded over the course of two weeks, the acronym of the forthcoming project represents three different subtitles (kidz on drugz, king overdose, kill our demonz). Set to consist of 12 tracks, the album is set to drop this Friday, April 20th.
