J. Cole Tells Full Story About ‘Neighbors’ Record During ‘4 Your Eyez Only’ Tour Stop in Brooklyn

Last year, J.Cole‘s home was raided by police out in North Carolina after it was reported that the Roc Nation rapper had been illegally growing weed and selling drugs out of the residence. Though the house was vacant, SWAT stormed their way in and came up empty.

Angered at what happened, J. Cole headed to the studio and wrote what we now know as ‘Neighbors’ on his fourth-studio album, 4 Your Eyez Only. During the HBO special, Jermaine showed actual from the police raid which was later used in the official music video for, ‘Neighbors.’

While performing the first of two shows over at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn this past Tuesday (8/1), Cole went into detail about the police raid at his North Carolina home and mentioned that he was so mad, that he wrote 19 verses about the incident.
