JAY-Z and Roc Nation Called Out By M.I.A. Over Custody Battle miixtapechiick

In a lengthy rant on X, formerly known as Twitter, British rapper M.I.A. took to the platform to publicly outcast JAY-Z and Roc Nation, accusing them of severing contact during the initial stages of her custody battle with ex-husband and businessman Benjamin Bronfman.

“My first custody battle was in 2013. My child was four. I was managed by JAY-Z, who ultimately was paid by Bronfmans,” she revealed. Bronfman’s father, Edgar Bronfman Jr., is the former CEO of Warner Music Group.

The “Paper Planes” star began by stating, “Biden won’t let me see my child. The longest processing is meant to be two months, and it’s already been that,” sharing a screenshot of an email claiming she is ineligible for a U.S. visa.

Adding to her grievances, she said, “They’re basically saying I have to wait for a Republican to come to office because nine months from now is the election.”

M.I.A. then alleged that her 14-year-old son, Ikhyd, is currently staying with individuals convicted of sex trafficking. “I’m not allowed to see my child for stealing food at 18, when I was poor, yet your government is okay with my child being with a family convicted of child trafficking and sex cults. Okay.”

M.I.A. further claimed that her son was vaccinated without her consent, pointing the finger at Canadian fashion designer and activist Aurora James, a friend of Beyoncé and Solange.

“Aurora James vaccinated my child without my permission. They manipulated my child by lying to a 12-year-old, pretending to be his mom. Of course, if it’s not your own child, you don’t care how you can psychologically damage a child with mental games. She’s Beyoncé and Solange’s friend.”

She continued expressing frustration over being labeled an anti-vaxxer and facing public humiliation, stating, “Again, they vaccinated him even after calling me an anti-vaxxer and humiliating me in the press for a good two years and canceling my latest MATA record from all promo and touring. Again sacrificing another LP, yet they still vaccinated him at 12 to get at me.”

Young Thug Is Free After Accepting Guilty Plea Deal in YSL RICO Case miixtapechiick

Young Thug is finally coming home after accepting a plea deal in the long-standing YSL RICO case. On Thursday, October 31, the Atlanta rapper appeared in Fulton County Court before Judge Paige Whitaker and pleaded guilty to all charges except racketeering and gang leadership, to which he entered a “nolo contendere” plea, meaning he neither admits nor disputes these charges.

Judge Whitaker explained his sentence:

“Essentially is 40 years, to serve the first five years in prison, but commuted to the time that you have already served. Followed by 15 years on probation. Followed then by the back-loaded 20 years; which can be served in custody and will be serve in custody if you are not successful on your probation. If you are successful in completing your 15 years probation, that will be commuted to time served.”

For the first time since the trial began nearly two years ago, Thug addressed the court, sharing, “I am a smart guy, I am a good guy, and I really got a good heart,” he told the judge. “I found myself in a lot of stuff because I was just nice and cool, and I understand you can’t be that way when you reach a certain height because it could end bad.”

The YSL RICO case kicked off on May 9, 2022, when Young Thug, along with Gunna, was named in a massive 56-count indictment targeting YSL members. Charges ranged from murder and armed robbery to gang activity. Thug was held without bond, and his trial began in January 2023 with extensive jury selection.

Gunna had already entered an Alford plea in December 2022, meaning he admitted guilt for one charge while maintaining innocence, stating it was in his best interest to avoid trial.
