R&B singer Jeremih has been released from a Chicago hospital following his almost month long battle with coronavirus.

The news, first broken by producer, Hitmaka, and later detailed by multihyphenate 50 Cent, reported back in November that Jeremih, born Jeremy Felton, was in an intensive care unit battling a severe case of COVID-19. His family then issued a statement to CNN confirming that Felton was indeed in ICU on a ventilator and what he was experiencing “is rare for a young man his age without underlying conditions.”

“His family would like to remind the world that COVID-19 is real and not to be taken lightly,” they said in a statement to CNN. “Also, It’s important for people infected to quarantine and let their families and friends know ASAP. There’s no shame in contracting COVID-19, and people that have it need to be responsible and considerate of others.”

The 33-year-old singer was able to walk out of the hospital Friday, Dec. 4.

“First and foremost, I would like to thank God and the incredible team of doctors and nurses at Northwestern Hospital for saving my life,” the singer told ABC7. “I will be forever grateful. I would also like to thank my family and friends for all their prayers and well wishes. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude.”

Jeremih also took the time to thank his friends, 50 Cent, Diddy and Chance the Rapper during this difficult time: “I would also like to thank my family and friends for all their prayers and well wishes. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude. A special thanks to Chance The Rapper, 50 Cent and Diddy for their love and support.”

Chance The Rapper broke the news on Twitter, Thursday, Dec. 3, that Jeremih would be getting released from the hospital the following day, referring to him as his ‘brother.’
