Coming out of North Chelmsford, Mass., Joey B, represents the meaning of hard work and determination. For years, the rapper has performed at numerous showcases, notably with New Jersey MC, Joe Budden. Fresh off tour with Budden’s Slaughterhouse brother, Crooked I, Joey B takes advantage of the momentum by pairing up with Budden on the C-Lanceproduced track, “By Myself.”

The two make for a fitting lyrical duo, particularly given that neither is scared to rap about the uglier side of life while throwing middle fingers to the doubters. And that mentality is on full display through “By Myself” in addition to Joey B giving himself some credit for his hard work: “I’m not the one to talk sh*t, who the f*ck am I kiddin’?/ But check it, in two years I turned a hobby to career.”

Of course, Budden is no slouch either, as he spits a sharp guest verse filled with knowledge, shoulder-brushing, and maturity. That’s particularly true when he rhymes, “I pay no mind to all the rumors and insinuatin’/ I’m past the age of false truths that give me stimulation.” Really, that’s just some good-ass life advice.
