Joey Bada$$ Responds to Ray Vaughn’s “Hoe Era” Diss With Punchline-Packed “THE FINALS”
The East vs. West tension in hip-hop is heating up again — but Joey Bada$$ isn’t backing down. Just a day after Ray Vaughn dropped his diss track “Hoe Era,” the Pro Era frontman returned with a calculated and cutting response titled “THE FINALS.”
Over sharp wordplay, Joey uses “THE FINALS” to address Ray Vaughn directly while weaving in subtle jabs at Daylyt and a closing line that nods to Kendrick Lamar. “I salute you Kenny but I know you well aware,” he spits, suggesting that if Kendrick’s looking for competition, he knows where to find it.
Lines like “You was better off as the intern / Better yet, a mascot” and “My name ain’t Rick, but I talk slick—don’t press ya luck” make clear Joey’s not just playing defense — he’s pushing back.
The exchange began with Joey’s track “The Ruler’s Back,” where he questioned the praise surrounding recent West Coast rap. That led to Ray Vaughn’s “Crashout Heritage,” and now “Hoe Era,” where the TDE rapper escalates the back-and-forth, also calling out Pro Era’s CJ Fly.
While Ab-Soul and Big Sean kept things playful in the recent Red Bull Spiral Freestyle cypher, Joey’s solo offering ups the competitive ante. Still, even with the slick talk and layered disses, “THE FINALS” maintains a spirit of lyrical sport — at least for now.
The question now is whether Vaughn responds again — or if another TDE member steps in next.
As previously reported by miixtapechiick.com, Queen Naija announced her engagement to Clarence White earlier this week. Today she made it official through music, releasing “Ring” via Motown Records.

“Ring” marks her first release since her EP 30. and arrives with early traction already built — the record generated over 1.3 million views and 200,000 likes across her native posts before release, and has sparked over 135 TikTok creations surpassing 2 million views.
After revealing the cover art earlier this week, JT returns with her new single “Numb.” Produced by Danes Blood, Ben10K, Chicken, and BAMBII, a limited signed 7-inch vinyl of the single is available for pre-order now exclusively at thegirljtworld.com.
“I ain’t never been a fake b*tch ever / I can never hang with a lame b*tch never,” she raps on the track.
The release comes off her surprise appearance at Coachella last weekend. JT appeared during Little Simz‘s set to debut their collaboration “Game On,” served as DJ and creative director for a Numb-inspired activation at the Do LaB stage, and hosted an afterparty at the Red Bull Mirage.
“Numb” follows “Girls Gone Wild,” released in November 2025, and her 2024 mixtape City Cinderella, which debuted in the Top 5 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
Chicago rapper Glizzy Glow and Atlanta rapper BunnaB have joined forces to release Glow’s latest single, “The Breakup Song,” accompanied by a music video directed by Blue Visionz.
Produced by Thankutimmy and Ki Cooked It, the track finds both artists taking aim at their exes. “Why would I be with you? …He put his chain around my neck, and they wonder why I’m cold / Every time we post a picture, all the b*****s yelling goals,” Glizzy Glow raps on her verse.
“The Breakup Song” follows “CUTWATER,” the 2025 single that put the Englewood, Chicago rapper on the national radar, accumulating 15 million views across platforms and 2.4 million on YouTube.
