John Monopoly has returned to the fold as Kanye West‘s manager after a decade-long departure. Monopoly, a pivotal figure at the start of of Ye’s career, stood alongside managers Gee Roberson and Kyambo “Hip-Hop” Joshua during the formative years.

In 2018, West made waves on Twitter with his statement, “I no longer have a manager. I can’t be managed. I’m nobody’s ‘client,’” following his split with co-managers Scooter Braun and Izvor Zivkovic. Their reluctance to commit full-time to West’s Yeezy clothing brand prompted the departure.

“Yes I got rid of my last lawyer,” West elaborated. “Why? Because he wouldn’t come to work full time. I also asked my last manager to come work full time for Yeezy of course the last lawyer and manager said no. So now I hired a CEO and a CFO and i have two full time lawyers as of now.”

Monopoly’s return marks a significant shift as he assumes the role of West’s manager on a full-time basis, as reported by Billboard. Furthermore, he will play a key role in orchestrating Kanye’s upcoming world tour set to kick off in just a few months. This tour marks Kanye West’s highly anticipated return to the stage since the abrupt conclusion of the Saint Pablo Tour in November 2016, which was cut short due to West’s hospitalization.
