Believe it or not, I LOVE rainy days. I’ve always looked at rainy days as a time of reflection. I sit in my room all day and write in my journal as if I were on an episode of Moesha or As Told My Ginger, then I write a couple posts like this one, and then I binge-watched six episodes of Grey’s Anatomy on Lifetime.

On rainy days, it’s quiet. Depressing, but quiet; and since I’m an introvert who loves being at home, this whether has always been suitable for me. So whether you want to sit in bed all day and cry or actually get some work done, here’s a playlist to get you through this melancholy whether.

Tory Lanez – U Got It Worse

Whether you’re listening to Chixtape 3 or Cruel Intentions, you will always find a Tory Lanez record that you can drive to in the rain or get in your feelings about. With his Swavey sounds, Lanez has the ability to flip old school records and add a sexy mournful vibe all at once. Hopefully, we can get a surprise mixtape before the release of his debut album, I Told You.

Dustin Michel – “I Won’t Tell” & “Change Me”

Former B5 member, Dustin Michel, dropped his solo debut EP, Different, almost a year ago and he definitely reminds me of Adrian Marcel (“2 AM.”) I was listening to the project while curating this playlist so I thought I should throw him in.

Frank Ocean – Pink Matter

People always tend to immediately relate rain to sex. If we’re going down that route, Frank Ocean‘s “Pink Matter” would be the perfect choice. Everyone enjoys the way the Roc Nation artist coons his words; and with his album dropping Friday, we’ll be enjoying it a lot more.

Sebastian Mikael – Made For Me ft. Teyana Taylor

Megan Rochell- It’s On You

I always associate rain with break ups and when that happens, I resort to Megan Rochell. Formerly signed to Def Jam, Megan Rochell’s debut album, You, Me, & the Radio never saw a store shelf, but I’m telling you that the album is amazing and it’s ashamed this songstress didn’t get proper promotion. On this record, Rochell is basically telling her man that she’s sick of putting her all into the relationship and not getting anything back. It’s on him now to make this relationship work, otherwise let’s call it quits.

V Bozeman – What Is Love

V Bozeman — a natural beauty with modern style. After one listen of “What Is Love,” you’ll hear a deep passion and well focused vision. She’s a dynamic talent and a true songstress that turned the likes of Timbaland, Cee Lo Green, Timothy Bloom, and more into fans, creative collaborators, and supporters.

Mila J – Smoke, Drink, Break-Up

It was either going to be this track, “Drowning,” or “Make Believe.” Any Mila J record is suitable on days like these. Though I’ve been listening to Mila J and Jhene Aiko since the B2K days, I’ve always favored Mila J more because her record were relateable to my life no matter the situation.

Tamia – Stranger In My House

I put this record here mainly because her records have been in my head since last week. Her vocal abilities are unmatched.

Keyshia Cole Ft. Nas: Oh-Oh, Yeah Yeah

Janine and the Mixtape – Hold Me
