Recently, there has been a brief musical feud between R&B singers Justine Skye and Giveon

Quick run-down: Last winter, Skye took to her socials to speak on the unravellings of her relationship with Giveon.

Long story short, there were many unspoken truths that finally came to light.

Fast forward to last week, Skye released a new single titled ‘What a Lie

“My poison was your peaches
Could’ve saved my time, should’ve taken my space
That’s what needed my attention, not your f-ckin’ face
Wish I read between the lines you were readin’ me
Such an actor, what you were after was the industry”

But as Skye sings, ‘What kind of man makes you part of their marketing plan?’ Soon after the announcement of her record, Giveon promoted his new single ‘Lie Again.’

“Lie so sweet
Until I believe
That it’s only been me
To touch you”

Considering the presented facts of the matter, it does not quite seem like Giveon’s song was necessarily about Justine. In a statement, he explains that the record “[details] the complexities of overlooking red flags to remain blissfully ignorant in the name of love.”

But as they say — timing (and in this case, wording) is everything.

What do you think about this R&B quarrel?
