Wednesday, Dec. 14, served as Day 3 of the Tory Laneztrial where he’s accused of shooting rapper Megan Thee Stallion, born Megan Pete, in both her feet on July 20, 2022.
Pete’s former friend and assistant, Kelsey Nicole Harris was expected to take the stand to corroborate Pete’s story and testify against Tory Lanez, born Daystar Peterson. However, when Harris arrived in court, her attorney immediately requested immunity prior to her taking the stand. She was reportedly granted “use immunity,” so that DA’s office couldn’t use her testimony to prosecute her for a crime.
Throughout her testimony, Harris hesitantly answered questions presented by the District Attorney, Kathy Ta. She denies shooting Pete, however, she recanted her testimony provided in September when she told investigators that Peterson offered her $1 million to not go to police.
Judge Herriford ended trial early as DA Kathy Ta pressed Kelsey about the aftermath of the shooting, Tory’s apologetic phone call, her meeting with him. It wasn’t going anywhere. Kelsey will be back for continued direct exam at 10:30, which in @LASuperiorCourt means maybe 11ish.
