Kendrick Lamar returned to the music scene with a bang this year with his sophomore effort, DAMN. With visuals and singles featuring crowd favorites Rihanna, Don Cheadle, and more, accompanied by a worldwide tour, the Compton native continues to treat fans to new content as he’s just announced that he will be releasing a collector’s edition of the 2017 LP via Microsoft’s online music marketplace.

With the re-release, the project’s track list will be flipped so that “DUCKWORTH” will start the album, while “BLOOD” will close it out. The collector’s edition will also be four minutes longer in run time verses the original project.

In an interview with MTV back in August, Kendrick Lamar commented on how fans realized they were able to play the album backwards:

“I think like a week after the album came out, [fans] realized you can play the album backwards,” he said. “It plays as a full story and even a better rhythm. It’s one of my favorite rhythms and tempos within the album. It’s something that we definitely premeditate while we’re in the studio.”

“I don’t think the story necessarily changes, I think the feel changes,” he continued. “The initial vibe listening from the top all the way to the bottom is … this aggression and this attitude. You know, ‘DNA,’ and exposing who I really am. You listen from the back end, and it’s almost the duality and the contrast of the intricate Kendrick Lamar. Both of these pieces are who I am.”

The collector’s edition is available for purchase on the Microsoft site.
