Nine Trey affiliate and rapper Kintea “Kooda B” McKenzie has entered a guilty plea after it was revealed he was contracted by Brooklyn rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine to kill Chicago rapper,Chief Keef, for $10,000.
Last summer, Chief Keef was staying at the W Hotel in Time Square where the killing by Kooda B attempted to take place. According to court documents, the lengthy investigation has resulted in Kooda B pleading guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering and faces up to 20 years in prison.
“Today, Kintea McKenzie admitted his responsibility for a brazen shooting in bustling Times Square. In coordination with Tekashi 6ix9ine and other Nine Trey gang members, McKenzie arranged to have another individual shoot at a rival gang member. We continue our daily work with our law enforcement partners to keep our communities safe and to vigorously investigate acts of violence committed by gang members.”
Kooda B is the eighth defendant to plead guilty in this case.
6ix9ine has cooperated with the federal government in revealing his co-defendants’ roles in the case in exchange of plea deal. He has since pleaded guilty to 9 counts of conspiracy, racketeering, firearms offenses, drug offenses, and drug trafficking.
The rapper is scheduled for sentencing on Jan. 24, 2020.
