Latto Drops New Single ‘Somebody’ With Island-Inspired Visual Directed by Her Sister
Latto is starting summer early with the release of her new single, “Somebody,” which dropped Friday (May 16) alongside a tropical-themed visual shot in Jamaica. The track marks the Grammy-nominated rapper’s first solo release of 2025.
Produced by Pooh Beatz, “Somebody” features interpolations of Aaliyah’s “Are You That Somebody?” as Latto flips the chorus into her own: “I really need somebody / Tell me you that somebody / I don’t care about your bodies / Love the way you touch my body.”
The Atlanta native delivers two smooth verses blending flirtation with assertiveness. “I get messy, you might need a mop / Just like Messi, we kick it a lot / Why she textin’? I’m climbin’ on top,” she raps.
Directed by her sister Brooklyn Nikole, the music video features vibrant island visuals, including a cameo from Jamaican dancehall artist Popcaan. Latto is seen floating on a bamboo raft and enjoying the ocean breeze, leaning into the song’s warm, romantic tone.
“Somebody” is Latto’s first solo single since the release of her 2024 album Sugar Honey Iced Tea, which debuted at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 and included collaborations with Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, Coco Jones, and more.
Earlier this year, she dropped the long-awaited remix to “Blick Sum” featuring Playboi Carti and is expected to appear on Rob49’s Let Me Fly album next week.

Tyla and Zara Larsson Drop New Single “She Did It Again”
Tyla and Zara Larsson seem to have broken the internet with “She Did It Again,” their new collaborative single. Produced by Ari PenSmith, the track serves as the second single from forthcoming sophomore album A-Pop. Fans have already drawn comparisons between the “She Did It Again” video and Beyoncé and Shakira‘s 2007 “Beautiful Liar.”
Tyla teased the collaboration last week with hidden figure images in the single’s cover art, leaving fans to guess who the featured artist was. The collaborator was revealed to be Zara Larsson on Wednesday, April 15.
“No ordinary love, this is propane, no, it’s not safe / Baby, this a dangerous game for you / Baby, this is all child’s play to me,” Tyla sings on the track.
“She Did It Again” follows “Chanel,” which Tyla released in October and has continued to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Tyla announced A-Pop at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards on earlier this year. Her self-titled debut arrived in 2024, and she has since released the WWP EP featuring Wizkid ahead of this new era.
