Renowned DJ Mister Cee, known to many as The Finisher, has passed away, as confirmed by close friends and family.

Born Calvin LeBrun, the New York native was not only a legendary DJ but also credited with discovering the iconic talent of The Notorious B.I.G. He was a pivotal figure in hip-hop history, serving as the official DJ for Big Daddy Kane and later becoming an integral part of Biggie Smalls’ rise to fame.

From spinning records at local parties to becoming the driving force behind Kane’s debut album, “Long Live The Kane,” in 1988, and serving as associate executive producer for The Notorious B.I.G.’s debut album, “Ready to Die,” in 1994, the former Hot 97 DJ’s contributions to the world of hip-hop were unparalleled.

May he rest in peace.
