On Tuesday night, Angela Yee took to social media with an announcement that The Breakfast Club we knew would be no longer. The cryptic tweet led fans to believe that it was the end of the road for the Power 105.1 show, however, Angela Yee took to the air this morning what was really going on.

The 12-year host announced that she was leaving The Breakfast Club and launching her own nationally syndicated radio show, Way Up With Angela Yee, on iHeartMedia.

“I’m overwhelmed with gratitude and excitement to have this once in a lifetime opportunity to create a brand-new show,” said Yee. “I appreciate everyone who has helped to make this happen at iHeartMedia, and most importantly, the listeners who are like family to me. It’s a bittersweet feeling to leave an iconic show like ‘The Breakfast Club,’ which we built from the ground up for 12 years, but we will forever be an extension of each other. I’m working hard and dedicated to making our new program exciting, thoughtful, provocative, and most importantly, a safe haven for even more of us to grow and learn while having fun. I’m ready for this new chapter!”

As to what’s next for The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy will still remain hosts. Angela Yee states she will also still continue her podcast, Lip Service.

Back in July, Drake announced October World Weekend: Road to OVO Fest Tour. Kicking off July 28, at History, Drake gave fans quite the weekend, with performances from Chris Brown and Lil Baby, Nelly Furtado, and more.

The October World Weekend: Road to OVO Fest Tour was supposed to end this Monday, August 1st, with a Young Money reunion concert with Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne on the Budweiser stage. However, Drake took to Instagram with sad news. The Toronto native has reportedly contracted COVID-19 and will have to reschedule the reunion concert.

“I will keep the city posted and share the new date whenever we have it locked,” he wrote via Instagram Stories. “Until then I hope everyone stays safe and healthy and I love you all I am so sorry for letting you down on our weekend together and the moment I test negative I will give you everything I got on stage (except the covid).”

On Saturday, day three of Lollapalooza was underway at Grant Park in Chicago.

While on stage, Lil Durk was hit with stage pyrotechnics midway into his Lollapalooza set. Covering his eye after being hit with the explosives, Durk took a second to gather himself before finishing the set.

Later on in the day, the Chicago native took to Instagram a photo of himself with his eye covered in gauze and medical tape and issued the following statement: “Due to the incident that happened at Lollapalooza in Chicago on stage, I’ma take a break & focus on my health,” said Durk in the caption. “I finished my performance yesterday for my fans. Appreciate y’all.”
