Megan Thee Stallion Drops New Single “Whenever” Following Coachella Set

Published

Megan Thee Stallion is kicking off 2025 with a fiery new single, “Whenever,” released today via Hot Girl Productions.

Produced by Bankroll Got It, the track samples Ms. Cherry‘s 2004 single “It’s Whateva,” with Megan delivering a defiant message to critics and haters. “Twenty-four hours in a day, and the first thing y’all hoes do is start hatin’ / Couldn’t be me, about my breach, in my sleep gettin’ paid,” she raps.

Megan stays in her bag, calling out her online critics while keeping it unapologetically confident. “Make no mistake, just ’cause I’m cute in this bitch, don’t mean I won’t run in your shit,” she warns.

“Whenever” arrives alongside a new music video directed by Zac Dov Wiesel. In it, Megan crashes through a wall into a waiting room scene, playing with surreal imagery including a fish tank and chessboard setups.

The single follows Megan’s Coachella performance, where she brought out surprise guests Queen Latifah, Ciara, and Victoria Monét. She first teased “Whenever” ahead of her second set at the festival.

In addition to revisiting the Blaxploitation-inspired aesthetic from her Fever mixtape days, Megan appears to send subliminal shots in her new verses, seemingly referencing influencer Olivia Davis‘ past comments about mispronouncing her name.

“Whenever” marks Megan’s first solo release of the year, following her 2024 album Megan and its deluxe version Act II, and her recent collaboration with BLACKPINK’s Lisa on “Rapunzel.”

The Houston native continues to show that she’s moving on her own time, with no plans to slow down.

Tyla and Zara Larsson seem to have broken the internet with “She Did It Again,” their new collaborative single. Produced by Ari PenSmith, the track serves as the second single from forthcoming sophomore album A-Pop.
