On Tuesday, Dec.15, Rowdy Rebel was released from prison after serving six years for charges stemming from back in 2014.

With Bobby Shmurda being denied parole and expected to be released in 2021, Rowdy Rebel is now holding things down from the outside and has already begun to record new music in the studio. Giving Funk Flex his blessing, Rowdy premieres his “First Day Out” Freestyle with Bobby Shmurda on the intro.

Over the drill-infused instrumental, Rowdy made sure to commemorate the late Brooklyn rapper, Pop Smoke: “Feed it to the opps, they know how we rock/ Ain’t no options/ RIP to Pop Smoke, if we find out who did it, you know we gon’ Pop ’em,” he spits. Rowdy Rebel appeared on Pop Smoke’s posthumous album, Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon via track no. 9, “Make It Rain.”

Rowdy Rebel’s “First Day Out Freestyle” is expected to officially drop on DSP’s on Christmas Day. Stream the preview below.
