Ryan Trey has teamed with Mariah the Scientist for his new single “Ain’t Even Friends.”

Ryan’s poignant vocals explore themes of personal shortcomings and the realization of losing a remarkable woman who stood faithfully by his side. His introspective lyrics echo with remorse as he croons, “At any given time I knew you could call my bluff / You held me down when I couldn’t hold you up.”

In a poignant retort, Mariah the Scientist steps up with her verse, reflecting on the time she invested in a partner crippled by insecurity and his inability to express genuine affection. Her lyrics lament, “All them f*cking nights I spent parked up on your block / I put in that time with you abut it wasn’t enough.”

Regarding their collaboration, Mariah the Scientist shared, “Ryan is so talented. I love the song and had a great experience recording it and shooting the video.I hope everyone loves it as much as we do.”

The single “Ain’t Even Friends” arrives in tandem with an official music video, directed by maliaSHUTup.
