Kehlani Calls Out Joe Budden After Comments Made on The Joe Budden Podcast
Kehlani took to Twitter to call out Joe Budden of The Joe Budden Podcast after a comment he made about the singer’s suicide attempt back in 2015.
Budden, who released a new episode of the podcast on Wednesday (Feb. 20) talked about the singer’s alleged diss record (“Valentines Day (Shameful)“) toward ex-boyfriend, YG, and how it conflicted with the release of YG’s single, “Konclusions,” which released just last Friday.
“We did receive some new music from [the breakup], which, I feel like I’ve been hoodwinked,” said Budden. “’Cause it was just last week we came on this podcast [and] Rory made me listen to a YG and Kehlani song, [‘Konclusions‘]. I was with this new image of YG being in love and making songs like he’s in love.”
Budden continued to talk about the Allen Ritter, Boi-1da & Jahaan Sweet-produced track stating, “Unlike any Kehlani record I’ve ever heard…she really wants us to know how much of a piece of shit YG is, but she’s hiding behind the thin veil of I’m not telling you guys who I’m talking about.”
After talking with his co-hosts Rory and Mal about “Konclusions,” Budden went on to bring up Kehlani’s suicide attempt back in 2015, following her break-up with basketball player, Kyrie Irving. The singer credited PARTYNEXTDOOR with saving her life.
“Party gonna try and double back now: ‘You was shitting on me ’cause I made you try to kill yourself.'”
Since the release of the episode, Kehlani took to Twitter her stance on the situation. However, Budden says, “it’s jokes.”
