Taxstone’s DNA Found On Gun Used In Irving Plaza Shooting

Published

on

Yesterday, we reported that podcast personality Taxstone of Tax Season was arrested in the shooting that took place at New York City’s Irving Plaza venue which resulted in the murder of Troy Ave‘s bodyguard, Ronald “Banga” McPhatter, as well as the injury and arrest of Troy Ave, himself.

After the shooting took place, NYPD recovered a 9-millimeter Kel-Tec semiautomatic handgun which fired the fatal bullet into McPhatter’s chest from the center console of the minivan that transported Troy Ave to the hospital.

After being arraigned today in court, it has been discovered that Daryl “Taxstone” Campbell’s DNA was found on the hand gun and magazine of the recovered weapon via NY Times.

“Mr. Campbell had the gun before the shooting, and videos show him coming into the green room before the gunfire and then fleeing, the complaint says. In front of him was the bodyguard, Ronald McPhatter. Behind Mr. Campbell was a person who is not named in the complaint, but who appears to be Troy Ave — whose real name is Roland Collins — based on earlier police accounts. Wounded in the legs, Mr. Collins was holding the Kel-Tec gun and firing it toward a fleeing Mr. Campbell.”

Taxstone also threatened Troy Ave days before the shooting via Twitter stating, “When I see you walking up with six dudes, bang-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba.”

Taxstone is set to be released on $500,000 bond.
