Trey Songz Arrested Following Altercation with Officer

On Sunday (Jan. 24), R&B singer Trey Songz was arrested at the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills AFC Championship game after allegedly assaulting a police officer.

According to TMZ, Songz was being heckled by fans who sat a few rows back from him in the Arrowhead Stadium. After telling them to chill out, witnesses say that Songz was then approached by an officer who began to get physical with him without warning.

In the footage obtained by TMZ, Songz began to defend himself – punching the officer in the head and getting him into a headlock. Multiple officers got involved which led to Songz arrest.

Songz, born Tremaine Aldo Neverson, was charged with resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer, and trespassing. The Back Home singer was placed on a 24-hour hold and will reportedly be released Monday night.
