Kehlani Releases Visual for ‘Butterfly’
Following the release of last month’s
Reaching out to the students and faculty of her former school, the Oakland School For The Arts, the visual finds Kehlani going through a metamorphosis from a cocoon to a blooming butterfly.
“I went back to my old middle school and found @omartwinz12,” said Kehlani. “These two little geniuses not only showed up and were incredibly epic/professional to work with, but they choreographed their entire piece the night before.”
“My set was built and designed by my production/set design teacher, Mr. Revon and assisted by students who stayed up till 3 AM working on that beautiful cocoon. The wings were designed and built by my costume design teacher Ms. Linda, assisted by a student. Thank you Oakland School For The Arts for cultivating such a beautiful community, and teaching me so much of what I use today in my career. Directed by the youngest director I’ve ever worked with @treylyons.”

After teaming up with NickDolo last month for “Not Regular,” EK39 is back with a new visual that blends two new tracks—“Watered Down” and “Beautiful Curse.” Both records will be featured on his upcoming project. After supporting one another on Missy Elliott‘s Out of This World tour these last few months, Ciara and Busta Rhymes team up on a new record together titled, “Wassup.”
After revealing that his upcoming studio album would be titled Hurry Up Tomorrow, The Weeknd set things in motion with the release of the lead single, Dancing In The Flames. Although the track debuted in the top 15 of the Billboard Hot 100, it didn’t quite achieve the impact expected.
Now, the XO Records maestro is back with a fresh offering titled Timeless, which he previewed during his show in São Paulo. The track features Playboi Carti, marking their second collaboration following last year’s hit, Popular.
