Wale and Pusha T Reconnect on “Damage Control” for Culture Jam Compilation MIIXTAPECHIICK

Wale and Pusha T haven’t been on a record together in over a decade, but that changed tonight with “Damage Control” — their new collab off Culture Jam Presents: Legend In My Hood, a compilation curated by Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards.

Produced by Don Cannon, the track leans heavy on slick flows and pointed bars. Wale holds down the first half, but it’s Pusha’s verse that’s already stirring conversation. He takes direct aim at Birdman and Drake, rapping:

“The realest Birdman, I just cock-a-doodle-doo / doorstep, doorstep, I get it right through / money talk, money talk, the wrist is light blue / Sugarhill sweet, sh*t is feeling type 2 / bruised egos, man, you ni**as might sue / New Jack Ninos telling on the crew.”

Push’s long-standing issues with Cash Money date back to 2002, when Pharrell reportedly wasn’t paid for producing “What Happened to That Boy” — a track that featured The Clipse. Things snowballed from there. In 2006, The Clipse dropped “Mr. Me Too,” which many saw as a direct shot at Lil Wayne. That tension only escalated with his 2018 clash with Drake, which gave us “The Story of Adidon.”

Now, months after Drake’s legal fight with Universal made headlines, Pusha’s latest verse keeps the tension alive.

“Damage Control” follows February’s “Late Bloomer” as the second single off Legend In My Hood. Listen to the track below.
