Kehlani

Kehlani took to Twitter to call out Joe Budden of The Joe Budden Podcast after a comment he made about the singer’s suicide attempt back in 2015.

Budden, who released a new episode of the podcast on Wednesday (Feb. 20) talked about the singer’s alleged diss record (“Valentines Day (Shameful)“) toward ex-boyfriend, YG, and how it conflicted with the release of YG’s single, “Konclusions,” which released just last Friday.

“We did receive some new music from [the breakup], which, I feel like I’ve been hoodwinked,” said Budden. “’Cause it was just last week we came on this podcast [and] Rory made me listen to a YG and Kehlani song, [‘Konclusions‘]. I was with this new image of YG being in love and making songs like he’s in love.”

Budden continued to talk about the Allen Ritter, Boi-1da & Jahaan Sweet-produced track stating, “Unlike any Kehlani record I’ve ever heard…she really wants us to know how much of a piece of shit YG is, but she’s hiding behind the thin veil of I’m not telling you guys who I’m talking about.”

After talking with his co-hosts Rory and Mal about “Konclusions,” Budden went on to bring up Kehlani’s suicide attempt back in 2015, following her break-up with basketball player, Kyrie Irving. The singer credited PARTYNEXTDOOR with saving her life.

“Party gonna try and double back now: ‘You was shitting on me ’cause I made you try to kill yourself.'”

Since the release of the episode, Kehlani took to Twitter her stance on the situation. However, Budden says, “it’s jokes.”

Cake Swagg Vanni ItsLitBoston

Last week, Cake Swagg shook up the Boston music scene when she took on Nicki Minaj‘s “Barbie Dreams” instrumental, as part of her #TalkThatTalkTuesdays Instagram series.

During the freestyle, the rapper called out numerous acquaintances including Rosewood Bape, Daetyme, Stizzy Leftlayne, E Burton, Treva Holmes, Boston Mook and Vanni Allan Poe, just to name a few. In the caption, Cake Swagg stated, “If I said your name, you’re one of my favs it’s all rec.”

However, Vanni did not take the mention of his name too well as he returned with a record of his own, freestyling over Nas‘ “Oochie Wally.”

"Cake Body Bag Swag, your body mad dag, and underneath them
colored wigs, that's a mad rag" Vanni said on the record.

Cake Swagg then returned with not one, but two rebuttals over Nas‘ “Ether” and Drake‘s “Back to Back.”

"It's been a year, you still exactly where I found you/ Where's the
growth, where's the change, I wouldn't scout you/ you should
go back to gospel rap, cause here we just gon' count you out,"
Cake Swagg responded.

Following the diss tracks, both Cake Swagg and Vanni sat with the ItsLitBoston Podcast on two separate occasions to tell their side on why they went at each other.
