The Official Version of XXXTENTACION & Lil Uzi Vert ‘I’m Not Human’ Released

Back in January, XXXTENTACION & Lil Uzi Vert ‘I’m Not Human’ was released on Soundcloud on what would have been XXX’s 25th birthday. However, the record was taken down on all streaming platforms due to sample clearance issues.

Luckily, Columbia Records and XXXTENTACION’s estate were able to clear things up and the record is officially back on streaming services.

Statement from producer John Cunningham on the song:

“When I was living with Jah in Florida in 2018 we would spend most days in his room, me playing guitar and him singing, and the day he first sang “I’m not human” as I was playing that guitar part we both looked at each other and cracked a smile, knowing it was special. We listened back to the voice memo he recorded and talked about finishing it, but the few times that we tried recording vocals in the studio the feeling was never the same and he always preferred the original voice memo which is why we chose to keep it in the official version of the song.

The conversation with Uzi about finding the right time and the right song for a posthumous release with Jahseh dates back to late 2018 before the release of SKINS. Uzi came to Florida, played basketball with X’s little brother Aidan, listened to the album with Cleo and I, but eventually they felt it wasn’t the right time for a song and it was agreed that we would rather wait for something to feel right rather than force it. Year later I’m happy to say the right time and right song aligned after Cleo and Uzi reconnected in late 2022.

I met up with Uzi at the studio and after one of the few heartfelt conversations we’d have that night, I played the song— which hadn’t been touched since May of 2018— and after seeing Uzi’s reaction to the song it felt as though the past few years of conversations and back-and-forth song ideas had all led up to this. That feeling was echoed after hearing Uzi and Jahseh’s voices together in a way that neither of them have ever sounded.

As complicated and conflicting as posthumous releases can be I feel I’ll hold this one in a special place due to the fact that I was able to have some small part in connecting two of the most pure and loving people I know.”

Meek Mill Releases New Independent EP ‘HEATHENISM’ miixtapechiick

Meek Mill found himself at the center of discussions due to his involvement in a new lawsuit alongside Diddy, who is accused of sexual assault and harassment by producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, a contributor to Diddy’s latest album, The Love Album: Off the Grid.

In the lawsuit, Jones alleges that Diddy had sex with Meek Mill, among others. Despite Meek’s name being redacted, the footnotes reveal him as the Philadelphia rapper who was previously associated with Nicki Minaj.

After spending 48 hours defending himself on social media, Meek Mill has shifted his focus back to his music, unveiling a new EP named HEATHENISM. This independent release features five tracks, with collaborations with Fivio Foreign and Future.

Drake Says Free Tory Lanez Ahead of Appeal Hearing

Drake recently took to Instagram Stories to advocate for the freedom of fellow Canadian rapper Tory Lanez, as Lanez prepares for his appeal hearing. Lanez had been sentenced to 10 years in prison in December 2022.

In a straight forward message accompanied by a photo of Lanez, Drake wrote, “3 you.” Lanez had been convicted of assault with an automatic firearm, possession of an unregistered loaded firearm in a vehicle, and reckless discharge of a firearm.

Lanez penned a letter to his fans on Instagram, maintaining his innocence after receiving his sentence:

To The Umbrellas,

I have never let a hard time intimidate me. I will never never let no jail time eliminate me. Regardless of how they try to spin my words, I have always maintained my innocence and I always will.

This week in court I took responsibility for all verbal and intimate moments that I shared with the parties involved. … That’s it.

In no way shape or form was I apologizing for the charges I’m being wrongfully convicted of. I remain on the stance that I refuse to apologize for something that I did not do.

I’ve faced adversity my whole life and every time it looked like I would lose, I came out on top. This is nothing but another moment where my back is against the wall and I refuse to stop fighting till I come out victorious.

Tough times don’t last, tough people do.

To my family, friends and umbrellas thank you for your continued support.

See you soon.
