On Friday (Jan. 24), rapper YG was arrested in connection to a robbery that took place last July.

According to TMZ, the L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at his San Fernando Valley home around 4 a.m. with a search and arrest warrant in connection to the robbery.

Last July, YG’s Escalade was involved in a high-speed chase that resulted in a shooting that claimed the life of a 65-year-old bystander that was riding his bicycle. YG maintained his innocence stating, “I was nowhere near the scene of this incident and had been in a recording studio all day in Hollywood,” he told TMZ. “I was there until after midnight on the Fourth of July and didn’t learn of these events until after they happened.”

A few weeks later, YG’s Hollywood-leased home was raided. He was not present during the raid and one person was arrested in connection with weapons charges.

YG was arrested on suspicion of robbery based on an ongoing investigation and made bail on $250,000. According to his attorney, Joe Tacopina, he believes the Bompton rapper will be cleared on all charges.

“YG has a performance scheduled at The Grammy’s Sunday where he will honor Nipsey Hussle, so the timing is suspect, to put it mildly.”
