YNW Melly Faces The Death Penalty In Double Murder Case
YNW Melly (born Jamell Demons), 19, was arrested back in February after being charged with two counts of first-degree murder following the deaths of his counterparts, Anthony Williams (YNW Sakchaser) and Christopher Thomas Jr. (YNW Juvy), in Florida, October 2018.
Law enforcement believes Demons, along with Cortlen Henry (YNW Bortlen) shot Williams and Thomas, Jr. and staged the killing to look like a drive-by shooting.
The State of Florida is now seeking the death penalty for YNW Melly, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
The state believes they have reasonable doubt, stating that Melly [allegedly] killed his friends for financial gain, with “the murder being especially heinous, atrocious, or cruel, and he committed homicide in a cold, calculated, and premeditated manner. “
