Nicki Minaj Pulls Out of 2019 BET Awards & BET Experience After A Posted Tweet
Nicki Minaj was not in a happy mood this evening.
On Monday (Feb. 11), BET published a tweet that linked an article congratulating Cardi B on Sunday night’s Best Rap Album win at the 2019 Grammy Awards. However, when linking the article, the tweet also read, “Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj is being dragged by her lacefront.”
This prompted Nicki Minaj to pull out of the forthcoming BET Awards and BET Experience via Twitter and told fans to get their refund.
“Young Money will no longer be apart of the BET Experience or award show,” she tweeted. “Summer Tour dates dropping soon.”
Nicki Minaj was scheduled to perform as a headliner alongside Lil Wayne in Los Angeles on June 21st, while Cardi B took the stage on June 22. This concerts would be followed by the BET Awards ceremony on June 23.
BET has issued a statement in response to this incident:
“Unfortunately the respect we have for Nicki was violated by this post that should never have been written. The post does not reflect how we feel about Nicki. And further does not reflect our company values. We deeply apologize for the hurt, disappointment and confusion that this post has caused. We are committed to doing everything we can to address the situation.
We are also conducting an internal audit to assure these types of posts are not published again. We have apologized to Nicki and her team. The post has been removed and we have taken additional appropriate action. We understand Nicki’s position and look forward to continuing our dialogue with her. Finally, we apologize to all of her fans. This should have never happened.”

Saweetie Posts Receipts of Quavo Sliding into DMs Following New Chris Brown Diss
Saweetie took to social media Tuesday morning that her ex-boyfriend Quavo reached out to her via direct messages, following his mention of her in his latest diss track aimed at Chris Brown, titled “Over Hoes & B-tches.”
In the song, Quavo raps, “I can take a model chick and make a Saweetie, n-gga,” which Saweetie didn’t take lightly. She shared a screenshot from January 2024, showing Quavo’s message on Instagram, which she hadn’t opened. The preview read, “Damn. We used to mean af to each…” Saweetie’s caption for the screenshot humorously suggested she hopes the model Quavo compares to her.

The history between Saweetie and Quavo dates back to their relationship from 2018 to 2021, which ended amid allegations of infidelity on Quavo’s part. Chris Brown didn’t hesitate to leverage their past relationship in his own diss track, “Weakest Link,” claiming to have been involved with Saweetie while she was still with Quavo.
“You fucked my ex-ho, that’s cool, I don’t give no fuck, lil n-gga/ ‘Cause I fucked yo’ ex when you were still with her, bitch, I’m up, lil n-gga,” he rapped.
Quavo previously dated Brown’s ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran, who filed for a restraining order against Brown after their breakup in 2017.
