One Dead & 3 Wounded After Shots Fired During T.I. Concert In New York
Last night, tragedy struck in New York when shots rung out in the green room of Irving Plaza during the T.I. & Friends concert in New York. The Atlanta rapper was holding the show in support of his new single “Dope,” and upcoming album, The Dime Trap. He was to be joined by was joined by Anderson .Paak, Dave East, Maino, Uncle Murda, and more. According to multiple news sources, T.I. was not on stage when shots were fired and is in no way involved in the shooting.
Eyewitnesses say Troy Ave and his entourage allegedly got into a scuffle with another entourage and that’s when shots were fired. It was also reported that security did not search the attendees prior to entering into the venue.
Later in the night, Karen Civil reported that Troy Ave’s management reached out and confirmed that the rapper was grazed by the bullet.
According to HHNM, NYPD Commissioner William Bratton blamed the “crazy world of so-called rap artists” for the incident during a live interview on WCBS 880:
The crazy world of these so-called rap artists who are basically thugs that basically celebrate violence they did all their lives, and unfortunately that violence often times manifests itself during their performances, and that’s exactly what happened last evening. We should be able to wrap it up quickly.
