André 3000 Releases New Album ‘New Blue Sun’ miixtapechiick

It’s been 17 years since André 3000 graced us with a full body of work, dating back to OutKast‘s Idlewild release in 2006. His latest musical endeavor, New Blue Sun, is a collection of eight tracks, all woven together by the enchanting melodies of the flute.

Released under Sony Music’s Epic Records, the album co-produced by André 3000 himself and multi-instrumentalist Carlos Niño. The musical ensemble features contributions of Nate Mercereau, Surya Botofasina, Deantoni Parks, Diego Gaeta, Matthewdavid, V.C.R, Diego Gaeta, Jesse Peterson, and Mia Doi Todd.

Addressing the lingering curiosity surrounding his absence from the rap scene, André shared his thoughts on NPR’s “All Songs Considered” podcast, dispelling the misconception that he refuses to create in that genre. “There’s this misconception that I just won’t do it,” he expressed. “I think people feel like I’m sitting around on rap albums, or sitting around and I’m just not putting them out in that way. And no, it’s not like that.”

He went on to reveal his genuine desire to produce a rap album, emphasizing the need to express himself in a way that aligns with his current stage of life. “In my mind, I really would like to make a rap album. So maybe that happens one day, but I got to find a way to say what I want to say in an interesting way that’s appealing to me at this age,” André continued, leaving the door open for the possibility of future rap ventures that resonate with both his artistic vision and evolving perspective.

Last week, Andre received Grammy nominations for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance as a result of his verse featured on on Killer Mike’s “Scientists & Engineers.”

The Weeknd Releases New Single ‘Timeless’ Featuring Playboi Carti  miixtapechiick

After revealing that his upcoming studio album would be titled Hurry Up Tomorrow, The Weeknd set things in motion with the release of the lead single, Dancing In The Flames. Although the track debuted in the top 15 of the Billboard Hot 100, it didn’t quite achieve the impact expected.

Now, the XO Records maestro is back with a fresh offering titled Timeless, which he previewed during his show in São Paulo. The track features Playboi Carti, marking their second collaboration following last year’s hit, Popular.
