Bobby Shmurda has officially been released from prison.

On Monday, Feb. 22, news broke that Shmurda, born Ackquille Jean Pollard, would be getting a conditional release date, according to TMZ. With his release date being ten months earlier than scheduled, the decision made by the Time Allowance Committee, which included prison staff and not the parole board, was made after reviewing Shmurda’s “behavior and participation in prison programs.”

When released, the “Hot N*gga” rapper will be on supervised parole. However, if the Brooklyn native gets in trouble, he is to serve is full sentence, ending Dec. 11, 2021.

Shmurda was previously denied parole back in September after having violations in prison, including being caught with a “sharp metal object” on Rikers Island, along with drug possession and fighting.

In 2016, Shmurda took a global plea deal alongside Chad “Rowdy Rebel” Marshall, where he pleaded guilty to 4th-degree conspiracy, which carried a sentence of 1-3 years, and 2nd-degree criminal weapons possession, which carried a sentence of 7 years. Shmurda has served six years behind bars and will be on parole until December 2026.

Rowdy Rebel was released on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020.

Shmurda took to Instagram Stories Monday to thank his fans “for remaining loyal” throughout his prison sentence.”I love you all and look forward to seeing you all soon,” he continued.

The rapper was picked up by Migos’ rapper, Quavo. He told Billboard, “I’m going to get my guy. I’m personally gonna go pick up Bobby Shmurda. I’m bout to go get him. I’m gonna let him show you how I’m gonna pick him up, yessir.”

It’s official! Ashanti and Nelly are expecting their first child together.

The songstress confirmed to ESSENCE, saying, “This new year of my life is such a blessing full of love, hope, and anticipation. Motherhood is something that I have looked forward to, and sharing this with my family, fiancé, and loyal fans, who have been so supportive of my career, is an amazing experience.”

In addition to the news, the couple has announced their partnership as co-owners of Proov, alongside founder Amy Beckley, PhD. Proov is a pioneering diagnostics company that offers affordable at-home tests designed to aid couples in their conception journey, providing valuable insights and support without breaking the bank. These medical-grade tests illuminate potential obstacles to conception, empowering individuals on their path to parenthood.

This new addition will mark Ashanti’s first child and Nelly’s third. The “Hot in Herre” rapper is also a father to his adult children, Chanelle, 29, and Cornell Haynes III, 24, from a previous relationship. Nelly also adopted his late sister Jackie Donahue’s children, Shawn and Sydney Thomas, after her passing from leukemia in 2005.

Ashanti shared her pregnancy announcement on Instagram through a heartwarming video that included a moment with her mother, Tina Douglas. In the clip, Ashanti is seen preparing for a show, and her mother, acting as her timekeeper, asks how much time she needs to get ready. After being asked twice, Ashanti emerges from behind the curtains and responds, “I’ma need about nine months,” leaving Tina pleasantly surprised by the joyous news.
