De La Soul is certainly one of the most influential and legendary hip hop pioneers of our generation.

Known for their innovation, wordplay, and creativity, the trio has created timeless music throughout the years and continues to find a place on the music charts as it was announced that their most recent album, and the Anonymous Nobody…., landed at number one spot on Billboard this past week. This is a huge accomplishment and certainly a gift for the fans who backed the New York trio’s Kickstarter campaign back in 2015 in order to fund the 9th studio album.

In celebration of the album’s climb to number one after only week since it’s release, Mass Appeal decided to treat fans with a thirty minute documentary titled, De La Soul Is Not Dead. A play on words from their 1991-sophomore LP, De La Soul Is Dead, Mass Appeal followed the trio where they each talked about their humble beginnings, the journey taken to create their debut album, 3 Feet High and Rising, and much more.
