On Thursday, Nov. 17, reports emerged that Cassie, former Bad Boy artist and the girlfriend of Diddy for nearly 10 years, filed a lawsuit against Diddy. The lawsuit accuses him of rape and prolonged physical abuse spanning over a decade. Filed in the Federal District Court in Manhattan under the Adult Survivors Act, the legal action reveals that the abuse began shortly after Cassie, born Casandra Ventura, signed with Diddy, born Sean Combs, and joined Bad Boy at the age of 19.

The lawsuit alleges a disturbing pattern of control and abuse by Diddy, including substance coercion, physical assault, and coercive sexual encounters.

It has now been reported that the NYPD has launched a “secret” investigation into Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. According to TMZ, it is an active case, but the case file has been “locked,” dubbing it as a sensitive case where access is restricted.

“The NYPD takes sexual assault and rape cases extremely seriously, and urges anyone who has been a victim to file a police report so we can perform a comprehensive investigation, and offer support and services to survivors,” the NYPD told TMZ.

TMZ also contacted law enforcement in other jurisdictions mentioned in Cassie’s lawsuit, including Miami, Beverly Hills, and Los Angeles, but were told “no police report has been filed as it pertains to Cassie or Diddy, and no investigation has been launched.”

Cassie, breaking her silence, expressed her readiness to share her story, emphasizing the importance of speaking out against violence and abuse in relationships. “After years in silence and darkness,” she said in a statement, “I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships.”

Diddy’s lawyer asserts that the accusations are baseless and part of a scheme to tarnish his client’s reputation, pointing out previous attempts to extort money. “Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations. For the past six months, Mr. Combs has been subjected to Ms. Ventura’s persistent demand of $30 million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail. Despite withdrawing her initial threat, Ms. Ventura has now resorted to filing a lawsuit riddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aiming to tarnish Mr. Combs’s reputation and seeking a payday.”

Cassie’s lawsuit concludes with an account of an alleged rape in 2018, after a dinner meeting between Diddy and Cassie. The suit claims that Diddy forced himself into her apartment, despite her repeated objections, and raped her. The relationship ended shortly after.
